Single Sign On (SSO) For PHPFOX
Single sign-on (SSO)is a session/user authentication process that permits a user to enter one name and password in order to access multiple applications. The process authenticates the user for all the applications they have been given rights to and eliminates further prompts when they switch applications during a particular session.
Single sign on benefits are:
- Ability to enforce uniform authentication/authorization policies across the websites/applications
- End to end user audit sessions to improve security reporting and auditing
- Removes application developers from having to understand and implement identity security in their applications
- Usually results in significant password help desk cost savings
Today the proliferation of web applications force users to remember multiple authentication credentials (usernames and passwords) for each application. Managing multiple authentication credentials is annoying for users and weakens security for the authentication system. Web Single Sign-On (Web SSO) systems allow a single username and password to be used for different web applications. We can provide SSO with phpFox and other application for better sustainably and user experience.
